A young fox has been filmed approaching two men for help after getting its head stuck in a glass jar in Russia Speed Dating.
Video of the animal, posted online on Thursday, shows it standing on a dirt road with its head obscured by the heavy glass. jar
When the man filming and his friend go to approach the fox, instead of running away it walks quickly towards them.
The young animal holds its head towards the men as the person filming reaches down and grabs the jar.
The fox scrambles to yank its head free and when this fails it stands still while the man pulls it out by the scruff of its neck.
Once freed , the young animal runs back into the forest at the side of the road.
"Where is the thank you?" one of the men can be heard joking in Russian, before saying "thank you" in a cutesy voice to imitate the fox.
"He would have died that way," his friend says.
The original footage has been watched more than 380,000 times, with many viewers pointing out that the fox behaved in a highly unusual manner.
Wild foxes are normally extremely wary of humans.
The silver fox was domesticated in Russia but selective breeding changed many of its physical characteristics massage therapy.

1 (4 -5 lb) beef roast, any kind
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package brown gravy mix, dry
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package dried Italian salad dressing mix
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package ranch dressing mix, dry
1?2 cup water
Place beef roast in crock pot.
Mix the dried mixes together in a bowl and sprinkle over the roast.
Pour the water around the roast.
Cook on low for 7-9 hours.

Author Notes: Kale chips are a perfect vehicle for any of your favorite spices. Curry, cumin, cinnamon, thyme, and rosemary will all work to give your next batch a unique flavor. My personal favorite spice mix for kale chips is this blend of smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, and red pepper flakes. It's smoky, spicy, and absolutely addictive. (less) - Gena Hamshaw
1 large bunch curly kale, stems removed, leaves washed, dried thoroughly, and torn into bite-sized pieces
2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Dash crushed red pepper flakes
Kosher or coarse salt
Preheat the oven to 275° F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Put the kale in a large bowl and drizzle it with 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Add the chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Massage the kale until evenly coated. Add more oil as needed so that all of the pieces are well coated. Spread the kale pieces in a single layer on the baking sheets and season generously with salt and crushed red pepper.
Bake for 15 minutes, then rotate the pans. Bake for about 10 minutes longer, until crispy but not burning. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.

This dinner party was inspired by my spontaneous purchase of a fresh coconut in the market, the challenges of opening said coconut, and the determination to do something delicious with the results. Given that coconut suggests Asian food, a cuisine I have relatively little experience with, I turned to our trusty "Hot, Sour Salty, Sweet" cookbook. Nearly every recipe here was inspired by this cookbook, I even consulted it for how to saute my peanuts, though none of the recipes were meant to be combined together in such a way. I'm old-fashioned like that, I still think cookbooks beat the internet when it comes to really learning about a cuisine.
Originally, I made some sauteed eggplant and rice on the side, figuring that guests or picky eaters who didn't want lettuce wraps could simply make themselves a more traditional plate of rice, eggplant, and chicken if they wanted. However, we mainly ended up adding the rice and eggplant to the wraps, using the rice to soak up the delicious chili sauce and the eggplant for a vegetarian wrap. Don't be put off be the long multi-day instructions, this really is easy to pull together.
Thai-Inspired Lettuce Wrap Party
Lettuce Leaves (we used butter lettuce) - separated, washed, and chilled
Chopped Toasted Peanuts
Sweet-Sour Chili Sauce
Chopped Green Onions, white and green parts
Cilantro and Mint Leaves
Pickled Carrots and Turnips
Sauteed Beef with Coconut (recipe follows)
Chicken Thighs Stewed in Coconut Milk (totally made this one up)
Sauteed Eggplant Rounds
(This game plan is flexible, you could shift it out to three days ahead, our do all your prep over the weekend for a weeknight dinner party.)
Two days ahead: do all grocery shopping. Make your pickled carrots/turnips, and the sweet-sour chili sauce. Wash lettuce leaves and place them in paper-towel lined tupperware in the fridge. Total time about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
One day ahead: make the chicken in coconut milk, and prep your nuts and chopped herbs, placing them in their serving bowls and covered with plastic wrap. Total time about 1 1/2 hours (mainly the chicken stewing).
Day of party: Make the sauteed beef. If making, saute the eggplant rounds (I drizzle my eggplant rounds with some of the sweet-sour-chili sauce) and make the rice. Assemble all the components on your table and serve!

Beef with Coconut
The best use I've found for ground beef since hamburgers.
1 bunch scallions, white and green parts sliced
1/2 kilo freshly ground beef
1 tablespoon curry powder, the best you can get
1 cup freshly grated coconut or dried unsweetened coconut
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1. Heat the oil in a medium sized saute pan. Saute the scallions until softened and starting to be translucent. Add in the beef, season heavily with salt and add the curry powder. Saute, breaking the beef up into bits. Just before the beef is done, stir in the coconut and mix well. When beef is done, remove to a serving dish and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

know what you're making for Thanksgiving yet? If the answer is "no earthly idea," do not panic. Panic only wastes time, and that's precisely the commodity that's in short supply. It's also completely unnecessary: Armed with this gameplan, it's completely doable (really!) to make a company-worthy Thanksgiving meal in two hours.
This menu stays true to Thanksgiving's most iconic flavors while shaving off prep time whenever possible. Each of these dishes incorporates time-saving strategies. Now is probably not the time to invite 20 friends over to dinner. Instead, shoot for a more manageable number of guest list — six to eight people is a good bet. Follow the gameplan, and you'll multitask effortlessly, creating an impressive feast in record time.
Here's how we did it—and how you can, too:
Spatchcock your turkey to cut cooking time.
Remember, Rockwell-idealism aside, you do not need a massive roasted turkey in the center of the table to call your meal complete. Cutting up the turkey before roasting it drastically reduces cooking time.
Keep your vegetable sides simple.
Why bother with elaborate winter squash recipes when a simple combination of roasted Delicata squash and roasted onion tastes so good? Roast them on two sheet pans, and you'll maximize the delicious caramelization.
Bake your stuffing right in a skillet.
Prepping your stuffing in one pan saves time, and if you cook it in a cast-iron skillet, you can even bring it straight to the table. Just sauté your aromatics in an oven-safe pan, then add the bread and remaining ingredients, stir, and bake.
Skip the green bean casserole.
Instead, keep your green beans simple and fresh—steam them right in the pan, then toss with butter, za'atar, and lemon zest. Done.
Serve a DIY dessert.
Why fuss over pie when you can set out bowls of vanilla ice cream, cranberry-pear sauce, and crushed gingersnaps so that folks can build their own Thanksgiving-inspired sundaes? That's a sweet sprint to the finish line.

At the beginning of every month in 2014, I will be offering a new wallpaper to apply on the desktop of your computer, with a food-related picture and a calendar of the current month.
As a new feature this year, the desktop calendar is available in two versions: a US-friendly version that features Sunday as the first day of the week, and a French version (shown above) that complies with international standards, featuring Monday as the first day of the week Virtual Office Hong Kong.
Our calendar for May is a picture of radishes with beurre ma?tre d’h?tel, a classic compound butter flavored with shallot and parsley, for which I’ve included a recipe in my upcoming book on French idioms, EDIBLE FRENCH.
Instructions to get your calendar are below.
Here’s how it works:
1- Click on the following links to get the US version (weeks begin on Sunday) or to get the French version (weeks begin on Monday); each of these links will open a new window (or tab) displaying the wallpaper, in the appropriate format for your screen size viriwarm bulb.
2- Right-click (or ctrl-click for some Mac users) on the image, and choose the option that says, “Set as Desktop Background”, “Use as Desktop Picture,” or something to that effect (exact wording will depend on the browser you use).

Schrambling_julie bain payard flourless chocolate cookies-6744Heading into the minefield of holiday dinners/parties dc brushless motor, I just learned a deft lesson from a friend on how to deal with food issues that seem to get more issue-y every year.
Once upon a time guests either ate what they were served or pushed it around on the plate to make it look as if they had done so. Now you have to worry about vegetarians rejecting the turkey, the lactose-intolerant shunning the whipped cream and, especially, the gluten-spurning sidelined by half the meal: What doesn't include wheat at the most celebratory time of the year?
So while I was blithely cooking for a dinner party for Saturday night data backup, this smart friend CC'd me on an email to her sister and niece with a snapshot of the flourless chocolate cookies she was baking to bring. It was the first I'd known she had joined the myriad with celiac issues.
And what a gracious way to deal with the most awkward situation, one that usually involves someone else sidling up way too late to inform me there is a food issue the size of an elephant in the kitchen. It was too late to change the dessert I had planned, a nut torte/tart filled with lemon curd, but I knew there was enough curd left over to serve straight. And I was able to switch techniques for the duck legs I'd bought, from panko-crusted to pinot noir-braised. Meanwhile, everyone else at the table got a second shot of sugar.
